Fourth of July Celebration at Wewoka Lake

Looking to get away this holiday weekend? Head on over to Wewoka Lake in Wewoka, OK.  Located only 67 miles from Oklahoma City, this friendly community lake is gearing up for their big Fourth of July celebration.  They’ve got a fun-filled two day celebration planned starting Friday, July 3rd.  Pack up your camper and head on over.

The Wewoka Lake Festival is happening this Friday and Saturday and they are welcoming everyone to join in the festivities.  With fun events such as the cardboard regatta and boat competition, there are plenty of events to keep you busy all weekend.  Friday, July 3rd Wewoka Lake will have food vendors from all over serving delicious hot dogs, hamburgers, and much more.  They are having a competition for best decorated campsite, and will host their parade of boats on Friday night.  Saturday, July 4th test your boat building skills in the cardboard regatta and boat competition.  Cash and prizes will be awarded to the most eye-catching cardboard boat.  Then sit back and enjoy the breathtaking fireworks display over the lake on Saturday night.

Other activities for the family to enjoy include boating, skiing and fishing.  Camping is available along the 10 miles of shoreline surrounding the lake.  RV, tent and primitive camping are available with places for electrical hookups, restrooms, grills and picnic areas for your use.  There is also a playground for the kids to keep entertained.
